Got a new hairdresser... Wendy Ee-Ee!

As the hair by the side is tickling my ears & disturbing me again, mummy decides to give me a haircut early this morning. Itz Mummy 1st try-out as my hairdresser.

Wendy Ee-Ee wakey juz in time and she took over the role since she is much experienced as compared to Mummy.

Mummy & Xunwu Kor-Kor are the entertainers as Ee-Ee gets on fast to have my hair cut done soonest.
Oops... I 'overstretch' Mummy's specs and it becomes the rubbish bin's PR (Permanent Resident). Poor thing...

Ee-Ee did a great job! Mummy has requested another haircut planned before Chinese New Year!

GUG tRiaL

Mummy Cherie organised a GUG (Growing Up Gifted) trial for Oct07 babies. Mummy got a slot for me just-in-time. (Date - 23Nov08, Time - 1400hrs)Daddy & Mummy accompanied me as Daddy took the 1st half lesson of 45mins and Mummy took the latter 45mins.

1st half of the trial is much about songs & plays. Daddy did plenty of 'exercises' as he carried me as we got in rhythm & 'dance' along with the songs.

2nd half of the trial is Arts & Crafts. Luckily, mummy took me thru this session as itz far off way dangerous for me. The activity is to mix Shaving Foam with some red-coloured syrup to get a Pinky mixture with our bare hands. OMG! Yes, Shaving Foam...

I freaked out the moment when the Big apron dived down and hang over via my little shoulders. I disliked the feeling and hence, I retaliated & cried. Mummy was distracted and confused with wonders of why Shaving Foam is used for this activity. Considering the safety & toxicity of this Shaving Foam and the red syrup. I skipped the part on the Hands-on of the scary mixture.

Some of my friends got their clothes stained with that Pinky mixture. One of my friend accidentially tasted some of the mixture, Mummy almost dropped her jaw when she saw that. OMG! Luckily I freaked out as I rejected the wearing of the apron.

As for the cleanliness & hygenie factors, be it for the classroom, teachers, etc., itz juz so disappointing. Can u imagine one of the teacher's blue socks' sole are dark brown in colour? Such a yucky thing. As well, the teachers are not engaging enough whereby there is lack of passion for sharing & caring for young children.

Mummy is sure pissed with these unpleasant encounters met during this trial. Not to say even to consider signing for the classes.

cHicKy pOx??

Itz not Chicky Pox after all. Yeah!!!

As high fever @ approx. 39 degree celsius hovered for 2days (11Nov & 12Nov), Mummy 'drowned' me with lotsa water & barley water. Yes, addition to small dose (20-30ml) of 'Ling Yang' each day. I lost appetite *as usual* and only fed on plainly milk and veggie porridge.

My Ah-Mah's advice for Babies with fever - Boil and discard the first round of boiled rice porridge water, replace with hot water and boil the rice porridge. Reason being 1st round of boiled rice porridge water is heaty. Hmmm...

Thereafter, I started to have mild rashes on 13Nov and I was suspected to have chicky pox. However, the rashes did not flare up into big blister-like kind (the norm chicky pox rashes). And rashes subsided after 3 days.

Mummy stopped all of my cereal feeds for a week, being on the safe side to avoid heatiness. I was just having rice porridge with veggie and fish/pork for both lunch & dinner. As of today, my cereal feeds have been resumed for lunch.

So I am well again, back to my cheery & jumpy self since last weekend.

This could happen to your child. McDonalds, Ikea, Go Banannas, Discovery Zone... All places with ball pitsin the children's play area.

One of my sons lost his watch, and was very upset. We dug and dug in thoseballs, trying to find his watch. Instead, we found vomit, food, faeces, and other stuff I do not want to discuss. I went to the manager and raised hell. Come to find out, the ball pit is only cleaned out once a month. I have doubts that it is even done that often. My kids will never play in another ball pit. Some of you might not be parents, but you may have nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or friends with children.

Hi. My name is Lauren Archer. On October 2nd, 1999 I took my only son Kevinto McDonald's for his 3rd birthday. After he finished lunch, I allowed him to play in the ball pit. When he started whining later on, I asked him what was wrong, he pointed to the back of his pull-up and simply said 'Mummy, it hurts.' I couldn't find anything wrong with him at that time. I bathed him when we got home, and it was at that point when I found a welt on his left buttock. Upon investigating, it seemed as if there was something like a splinter under the welt. I made an appointment to see the doctor the next day, but soon he started vomiting and shaking, then his eyes rolled back into his head. From there,we went to the emergency room. He died later that night. It turned out that the welt on his Buttock was the tip of a hypodermic needle that had broken off inside.The autopsy revealed that Kevin had died from a heroine overdose. The next week, the police removed the balls from the ball pit. There was rotten food, several hypodermic needles: some full, some used; knives, half-eaten lollies, nappies, faeces, and the stench of urine. Don't think it's just McDonald's either. A little boy had been playing in a ball pit @ a Hungry Jacks & started complaining of his legs hurting. He later died too. He was found to have snake bites all over his legs &buttocks. When they cleaned the ball pit they found that there was a copperhead's nest in the ball pit. He had suffered numerous bites from a very poisonous snake.

Over the weekend, mummy tries out a new recipe for me.

'Mee Sua'... Here's how itz prepared...

Soak washed ikan bilis n cherry tomatoes in hot water prior to cooking, say abt an hour before. Boil under small fire, sieve out the ikan bilis n cherry tomatoes as the soup starts to boil. Add in well-chopped pork loin. Once it starts to boil, add in mee-sua and well-chopped spinach & pumpkin. Ready in serving bowl, making sure mee sua is cut into 'chew & swallow' -friendly for us.
